Celebrating Women's History Month, The Third Generation of Lefty's Brand, Taylor!
It’s no secret that Lefty’s Barbecue is a landmark in Charles County. Since 1989, this restaurant has been catering to the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area with its scratch-made southern-style dishes and hickory smoked barbecue.
In 2007, was the emergence of Lefty’s Spices which manufactures its famous fry mixes, sauces, and spices created by Lefty’s restaurant.
At the heart of both businesses stands a shining beacon to carry the torch, Taylor Holland. Taylor is the granddaughter of founders, Walter (Lefty) and Margaret Nash, and third generation of Lefty’s brand.
Her journey began growing up in the restaurant and watching her family create and smoke dishes that she grew up on. At a young age, she began working in the restaurant as a server/cashier. Her family instilled in her, firsthand, the importance of how to communicate and interact with customers.
Fresh out of college, Taylor is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a bachelor’s degree in business marketing. Even during college, she created cooking videos, “Cooking with Tay”, showcasing how to create easy recipes using Lefty’s Spices’ products. Therefore, what started as a part-time gig soon blossomed into a full-fledged passion. She always knew she wanted to be a part of the family’s legacy.
At Lefty's, Taylor wears many hats – from helping in the restaurant to creating marketing material for Lefty’s Spices. With an infectious enthusiasm for all things culinary, Taylor transforms each interaction into an opportunity to share her knowledge and ignite a love for cooking in others. In the fast-paced world of culinary delights, Taylor's bright smile and vibrant personality illuminate with energy and passion for the brand.
Outside of Lefty’s, Taylor loves socializing with her family and friends. She enjoys listening to and creating music, traveling, and most of all, she loves a good meal!
