Five Sides to have this Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is approaching, so it's time to start planning what you're going to be making for the big day! While turkey usually takes front and center on the table, everybody knows side dishes are what truly make the meal great!

Here are five of our favorite side dishes even beginners can make:

(Psst: everything listed can, of course, be made with Lefty's All-Purpose Seasoning Blend, coming to our online store soon!)

Collard Greens

First up, we have a family favorite: Collard Greens!

Traditionally cooked with meats like ham hocks or turkey wings, these go-to veggies are perfect for adding extra flavor to your plate.

Here's the Recipe: Collard Greens

Mashed Potatoes

Mashed potatoes are a must on Thanksgiving!

Not only are they super versatile (creamy, garlicky, cheesy... you get the picture), but they are the perfect comfort food. Plus, mashed potatoes can be made in advance and still taste freshly made after being reheated!

Baked Macaroni & Cheese

Macaroni and cheese is another family favorite we have during the holidays! Like a casserole, the best mac and cheese is baked until crispy and golden on top.

Here is a recipe we like: Baked Macaroni N' Cheese

Sautéed Kale

Similar to Collard Greens, Kale is a go-to veggie!

This healthy side dish is a great vegan substitute for greens. You're in luck! We just posted a video making it.

Cranberry Sauce

Last but not least, Thanksgiving dinner wouldn't feel complete without Cranberry Sauce. Whether you buy it in a can or make it yourself, cranberry sauce is the ultimate final touch to any holiday meal.

Some of our honorable mentions are Stuffing (It's National Stuffing Day!), Cornbread/rolls, string beans casserole, and candied yams.

*Regardless of what's on your plate, we hope you have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!*
